The course of the water guides you to Dinan, a medieval town of half-timbered houses. The ocean is not far away! From Dinard, take a small boat to the corsair town of Saint Malo. Your journey continues along the beaches of the Emerald Coast and the tide-swept bay, with the Mont Saint Michel abbey in the horizon, the highlight of your trip.

From Rennes to Hédé-Bazouges
Stage 45 km - Elevation +30 m
First cycling day. The towpath along the Canal d'Ille et Rance takes you peacefully to Hédé. As you pedal along, you'll leave behind the urban atmosphere and strollers, and enter a wilder world. The arrival at the 11 locks marks your arrival in Hédé. This 2km-long water staircase is a technical masterpiece, enabling boats to negotiate a 27m difference in height. The view is breathtaking.

From Hédé-Bazouges to Dinan
Stage 40 km - Elevation +80 m
A bucolic day on the greenway along the Canal d'Ile et Rance. Let your mind wander as you pass through locks and villages.
Léhon, a small town of character, marks your arrival in the medieval city of Dinan. Perched on a rocky spur, this fortified town will transport you to another time. With its history linked to Anne de Bretagne, its half-timbered houses, belfry and churches, strolling through its picturesque streets is captivating. And don't forget to try one of the crêperies!

For Dinan to Saint Malo
Stage 30 km - Elevation +80 m
Leave the banks of the River Rance and head for the ocean and the Emerald Coast!
A pleasant cycle path following the route of an old railroad line will guide you to Dinard and its famous Belle Epoque villas overlooking the sea.
From here, you'll embark on a small boat to Saint Malo. The arrival by sea at the walls of this Corsair City is breathtaking!
Take advantage of the afternoon to wander the granite streets in the footsteps of Surcouf and other famous captains, or take a dip in the renowned sea pool of Saint Malo !

From Saint Malo to Le Vivier sur Mer
Stage 31 km - Elevation +40 m
Leave the fortified cocoon of Saint Malo to venture out into the great outdoors.
There's the Great Sillon Beach, followed by windswept rocky points and calmer coves ideal for swimming. An 8km extension will take you to Cancale, whose oysters are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A few kilometers further and you're in the Bay of Mont Saint Michel. An extraordinary landscape whose face changes with the tides. Enjoy the sea air and a sunset stroll...

From le Vivier sur Mer to Pontorson by Le Mont Saint Michel
Stage 35 km - Elevation +30 m
You can make out its silhouette in the distance... is it a cloud, or the famous mountain?
As you ride your bike, its contours take shape, and there it is! You'll feel privileged to access it by bike - it's so simple! Classed as a wonder of the world by some, the abbey of Mont Saint Michel is a place of rare beauty. Savor the moment, immerse yourself in its history and contemplate the view formed by the thousands of mirrors of water between the tongues of sand.
At the end of the day, you'll make your way gently along a cycle path to the small town of Pontorson.

In the morning, after breakfast, you'll take the train to Rennes.
This will be the end of your cycling tour between Rennes and Mont Saint Michel.
