The wonderful Bay of Arcachon in 4 days

A relaxed start with time to get settled into your hotel. 
You may like to take a stroll along the seafront and watch the sunset. 

Dinner on your own and night in 3-star hotel.

27km stage. Approximate time: 3hrs 
In the morning you ride along the bustling seafront. You'll no doubt rub shoulders with some of the locals come to do their daily jog whilst breathing the invigorating air of the sea breeze. The cycle track rolls on and brings you to the gates of the Ville d'Hiver* and its XIX century villas, magnificent yet touchingly quaint. Progressively, you ride into the forest of the Landes where the scent of pine mingles with the sound of rustling needles. At the foot of the great dune, Le Pilat, you lock up your bikes and go to the top on foot to admire the view - well worth it! The return ride takes you along the edge of the sea right to your 3-star hotel.

20km stage. Approximate time: 2hrs15.
Today you bike round the Bay of Arcachon towards the Parc Ornithologique du Teich. First you cycle alongside the beach lined with little shops. Further on there's the port and its fish auction. Then you leave the urban world and go through a number of more discrete oyster-farming ports. The superb Bird Park is really worth spending some time on. Count on a visit of 2 to 3 hours so you can immerse yourselves in the sights and sounds that people the park. Marvellous! 
Towards the end of the day, you are ferried back to Arcachon on the charming Bay railway.

10km stage. Approximate time: 2hrs
In the morning you embark with your bikes on a little boat that crosses the Bay of Arcachon towards Cap Ferret. You may notice there's a family atmosphere here in this "village at the end of the Earth". Along an exceptional route you'll see both modest oyster-farming villages. There are many occasions to get down to the vast beaches facing the Atlantic, so don't forget your swimming things and of course a picnic. At the end of the day the boat, often accompanied by a glorious sunset, will take you back to Arcachon.

If you wish, you can reserve one last night in your hotel (supplement required) to round off your stay before your departure the next morning.
